On March 14 in 1964, a jury in Dallas found nightclub owner Jack Ruby guilty of murdering alleged presidential assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald. Ruby was sentenced to death. Both the conviction and death sentence were later overturned, but Ruby died before he could be retried.

Oswald, of course, is widely known as the alleged assassin of President John F. Kennedy.

Kennedy was fatally shot as his motorcade rode through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, on November 22, 1963.
