In this classic 1953 interview, veteran newsman Edward R. Murrow interviews Senator and Mrs. John F. Kennedy one month after their marriage. The format is an informal “Person to Person” chat with the newlywed couple in their Boston home.

Watch how Jackie is startled by his question on which required more diplomacy: her former job as a reporter, or her new position as wife.

Whether you liked him or hated him you had to arimde him. A man of considerable talents and doggedness. America will miss him, Republican or Democrat.

I suspect the cnmemot is more reflective of his age than anything else. Being involved in the Warren Commission investigation was probably the seminal event of his political life. Non-baby boomers probably didn’t have a clue what he was talking about. To them that’s irrelevant ancient history.
